Technical data

The Jaguar Mk IV 2.5 Litre was sold as SS 2.5 Litre before world war two. The SS 2.5 Litre was introduced in the year 1937. After 1945 Swallow Sidecar Company (SS) changed it's name to Jaguar. Immediately after the war the graceful Mk VI was put back in production and it was produced until 1948. From 1937 until 1948 7230 SS and Jaguar Mk IV 2.5 Litre cars have been built. The Mk IV was available as saloon and Drop Head Coupe model. The automobile was also available with a larger 3.5 litre engine.
De Jaguar Mk IV was succeeded by the Jaguar Mk V.
The Mk V was basically the same car but it was given a new front with the driving lamps integrated in the front wings. The Mk V was also fitted with hydraulic brakes.
