The Volvo PV
544 succeeded the Volvo PV 444 in 1958.
The Volvo PV 544 is a very robust and sturdy car, just like it's
predecessor. Compared to the PV 444 the PV 544 features a "one
piece" front windscreen, 12 volts electrics and the Volvo B 18
engine with five crankshaft bearings.
The Volvo PV 444 and PV 544 were very successful almost indestructible
rally cars. These cars are so robust that very many of them stood up to
the test of time, and still survive.
Looking at the rally driving qualities of the car we only have to look
in the past: the Volvo PV 544 is one of the best choices if you want to
participate in historic rally events. Because of the sturdy construction
an the simple but strong mechanics these cars survive the harshest
driving conditions.
