Information

Talbot Lago T26 Record coupe (Coach Surprofilé), year 1948. Colour dark blue with a dark red leather interior. This beautiful and scarce Talbot Lago T26 Record coupe mechanically very good and very original, the bodywork and the interior were restored recently. The automobile shows many delightful details and it features an original sliding roof!
Until August 1969 the automobile was owned by the American David M. Callahan. Callahan had the Talbot Lago extensively serviced and detailed in the 1960'ies. After the sale in 1969 the Talbot Lago became within the ownership of a Californian car collector. In the 1980'ies the automobile was extensively serviced and optically detailed by the American firm of Hill & Vaughn.
The automobile is currently in The Netherlands. The owner recently had the bodywork and the interior of this fine T26 Coach Surprofilé restored. During our test drive we were struck by the delightful driving experience, the power of the engine and the smooth gear changes of the advanced pre selector gearbox. The sporty chassis of the Talbot Lago T26 was one of the favorites of the renown European coachbuilders like Figoni & Falashi. This factory built T26 Record Coach Surprofilé was one of the most exclusive automobiles of it's era. These scarce Talbot Lago models are seldom for sale.
