The Daimler Sovereign is the luxury sister model of the Jaguar 420. This model was introduced in 1966 as the successor of the Jaguar S-type. The cars were positioned above the Daimler V8 and the Jaguar Mk II. The Sovereign and 420 were more spacious and they offered an even more comfortable ride. The Sovereign/420 featured a dual circuit brake system, independent suspension all round and a limited slip differential. The automobiles were fitted with the powerful 4235 cc. Jaguar XK engine.
